The Comment Factory is a community of writers, artists and thinkers who want to share their ideas and opinions with the world.
We come from all over the globe and from every walk of life. What binds us is our belief in the free and open exchange of ideas as the vital prerequisite to a democratic world.

The site is open to anyone from any political persuasion who can write competently in English. All work is fact-checked and edited before going up. And it isn’t only comment — reporting, photos and interviews are appreciated too, from the Kashmir crisis to protests about Sri Lankan militarism.

If you feel you can’t string a sentence together, we encourage submissions using the visual arts — video or photo essays, graphics, images.

We won’t censor you, but we will make sure we don’t get sued.

We encourage members to read and comment on each others’ pieces.
